ACCREDITATION

The establishment of Karnataka People’s Education Society (Formerly known as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Smarak Samiti, Gulbarga) has its own historical background. In 1942 Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar established People’s Education Society in Aurangabad, for the upliftment of downtrodden people. Inspired by this, Dr. Mallikarjun M. Kharge, the founder chairman of K.P.E. Society Kalaburgi with the help of former legislators and like-minded persons, took the task of installing the statue of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar, the architect of Indian Constitution, at Gulbarga and constituted a committee on 23-08-1973. Our beloved late Prime minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi unveiled the statue on 05-03-1977. Our Founder Chairman Dr. Mallikarjun M. Kharge and the General Secretary Dr. Maruti Rao. D. Maley turned their mind towards the establishment of educational institutions in educationally and economically backward Hyderabad Karnataka Region, with the meager amount contributed by the workers of M.S.K. Mill and other well -wishers of the society, established Milinda High school at Basawanagar, Gulbarga. Then slowly and steadily our society started a series of educational institutions with the support of donors and other well- wishers of this area. This society was established in 1976 with a view to inculcating the noble ideas of Lord Buddha, Basava and Ambedkar . The society’s main object is to promote education, Arts, Science ,Culture, and Physical and spiritual upliftment of downtrodden people. At present the society runs 36 educational institutions in Hyderabad Karnataka Region and Bangalore. Under the noble guidance of our benevolent founder chairman Dr. Mallikarjun M. Kharge and the General secretary Dr. Maruti Rao D. Maley, the society has been doing great work in the field of education since 1976. At present the K.P.E.
